In 2017, you can kick off your school year with a phenomenon-based exploration of motions in the solar system. In this workshop, you'll learn activities to engage your students in developing and using models to understand how eclipses happen.
Lessons in this workshop will follow student learning progressions and help you understand how to scaffold different concepts such as shadows, scale, and motion so that your students can engage in authentic learning experiences.
Additionally, you'll leave with methods for facilitating safe methods for viewing the solar eclipse on August 21, 2017.
This workshop experience is designed for all educators grades 3 - 8.
