End summer with science: Immerse yourself in the natural world at the California Academy of Sciences’ annual #TeenScienceNight, a teen takeover night at the museum. Youth (ages 13-18) are invited to come explore the world of science at this free, fun-filled event.
Teen Science Night is the nation's largest teen-only museum event. Each year, the California Academy of Sciences welcomes over 1500 teens to explore the museum and learn about science and nature. Attendees have the chance to freely roam the museum and engage with over a dozen local organizations about science, technology, art, and music.
#TeenScienceNight is a free-choice learning event without scheduled programs. Teens who visit can choose what to learn about and when. Every #TeenScienceNight features a local teen DJ and reduced costs food from the Academy Cafe. The end of the night is marked by a dance party and raffle.
- Only teens (ages 13-18) are admitted to #TeenScienceNight. Parents and other adults are not permitted (with the exception of chaperones and teachers from partnering organizations).
- The event is free and tickets must be reserved in advance.
- Guests and bags are subject to inspection.
The Academy provides a variety of out-of-school-time programs for middle and high school-aged youth, with applications opening seasonally.
